Class Expectations:

• Students will maintain a respectful and positive attitude

• Be on time! On your third tardy you will receive a detention

• Raise your hand in class; please don't speak if you don't "have the floor"

• Cell phones silenced and put away please

• Stay seated unless you have permission to get up

• No gum, food or drinks (water OK)

 

Students need the following supplies:

• 100 page comp book

• tape OR glue stick

• colored pencils (12)

• highlighters (3 colors)

• pencils, pens (blue/black/red)

 

Homework/Late Work/Absent Policy:

Students should expect homework 2-3 nights per week.  Homework will not be accepted late except in the case of excused absence.  Essays, projects, classwork, will be accepted late for a 10% penalty up to one week after the due date.  Students who are absent may obtain their make up work from the crate at the front of the class, filed by student's name and class period.

Grading:

Students will be graded on accumulated points on the traditional grading scale used by the district.  Parents and students are encouraged to keep track of student grades on the parent and student portal.  Extra credit may or may not be offered-students should NOT count on it to raise their grade.

Cheating/Plagiarism Policy: 

Essays, projects, assignments that have been copied will result in an F on the assignment for both students.  The student lending the work is equally responsible and will have the same consequence as the copier.  Copying out of a book or off the internet without citing your source and giving proper credit is considered plagiarism and will also result in an F.  Unsure?
